Surprised? Or Not?

Let's play the game of Surprised? or Not?

Navy Seals Kill Pirates, Rescue American HostageNotThis one ended pretty much the way I expected.
One Obama Search Ends With a Puppy Named BoNotEvery President does it; I've never found it endearing regardless of who holds the office. Do you?
Vatican rejects Kennedy diplomat roleNotThis was doomed from the start. If the Vatican rejected 3 other pro-abort pols, why would they accept a 4th?
No degree, but ASU names scholarship for ObamaSurprised
A little surprised. Actually I thought they would cave in and give the degree, but hoped they would stick to their guns. So they caved in a different direction to save face. Par for the course.

I haven't seen anywhere else say it was SEALs who did the sniping and rescuing of that Captain. Might be. But yeah, totally expected.

I could not possibly care less about the Presidential pooch of this or any other President.

Kennedy - eh, we don't know for sure that stance on abortion is the determining factor here. But it is very very likely. I do wonder why it's relevant to a DIPLOMAT. Does the Vatican have similar standards for all ambassadors it grants recognition to, I wonder? Perhaps only those who are ostensibly Catholic.

OF COURSE ASU is honoring Obama. Why would a secular university that would invite the President to give the commencement address NOT honor him?

Vatican does clandestinely screen their ambassadors for life issues, PARTICULARLY if they're Catholic (because then they are coming from a position of authority).

No reason ASU wouldn't honor Obama, they just said they weren't honoring anybody yet. It's ND that you'd expect to take a "principled" position.

Then there's the question of whether the Vatican refusal happened at all. Lombardi says no:
