South Dakota Milky Way Time Lapse

Bob Parks is featuring a video from Dakotalapse.com which filmed an excellent time lapse sequence of the Milky Way in South Dakota.

Well worth 3 minutes of your time. So beautiful it makes you want to cry. The panning shots are breathtaking.

That was cool - thanks.

And to think, that up until a bout a hundred years ago, that was the view for everybody, under a clear sky.

Darn you light pollution!

Wow! Just beautiful. I couldn't help but think about the plains Indians who were under the stars and saw the Milky Way every clear night with no competition from electric lights.

Also, since I lived in Nebraska and have traveled much from north to south in the plains states, I loved seeing the windmills and barbed wire in this video. It felt like I was there. The music was great, too. Thanks.
